Yesterday the regular tube stations that we use were down. However, that didn't deter me and the two guys that were with me from exploring. We had about two hours between breakfast and class. We decided to head out to Westminster to see the houses of parliament or maybe the abbey. We got oyster cards before departing (our month tube passes which have the royal couple on it just for fun). This was only my second time on the tube. The first time, I'd been carting luggage and was jet lagged and tired.
We got to our destination just fine. We actually decided to go to Buckingham palace instead for some reason. We saw the news media set up for the wedding which was to be the next day. We gave ourselves an hour to get back figuring it'd take us 20 minutes, but just in case... We got stuck on a train and had to wait about 5 minutes for it to pull into a station after it initially stopped. We were at a station we'd never been to before and there were no trains leaving from it. So we headed above ground. We eventually found a bus stop, but couldn't very well figure out where we were supposed to go. We got on the wrong bus (?) and got off in another random place. Luckily, we were by a street we reckognized. We ran the rest of the way and got to class just a few minutes late. It was quite an adventure.
I'd write more, but I'm on kitchen duty and it's almost dinner time. I'll have to write about the royal wedding a bit later. Still don't know when pictures will come. Oh and in case you didn't get the message, anyone can now comment on these posts.
Have a wonderful day!
